It’s official, the country has frozen over. It’s -1 degree in Boston!! I hope it’s warmer wherever you are. I know that the likelihood of me leaving my apartment today is slim to none but that won’t stop me from getting a workout in. Try this winter workout at home. You don’t need any equipment at all…all you need is a timer.

I included some pictures from my summer fitness series with Cave Girl in the City to inspire some warmth 😉

Winter Warm-up Workout

WARM UP
-30 second jog in place
-30 second jumping jax
-Repeat 5x

Push-up Tip: Drop to your knees if you have to. It’s better to do a full push-up on your knees than a half-assed one fully extended.

LEGS
-10 alternating lunges
-On 10th lunge, pulse 10 times
-30 rest seconds
-Repeat 3x

-1 minute: fast run in place

 ABS + ARMS

-30 second plank
-10 push-ups 
-30 second rest
-Repeat 3x

Squat Jump Tip: Land on your toes first to avoid injuries.

-1 minute: fast run in place

LEGS
-15 squats
-10 squat jumps
-30 second rest
-Repeat 3x

-1 minute: fast run in place

ABS
-30 second plank
-10 alternating knee to nose
-30 second rest
-Repeat 3x

-1 minute: fast run in place

ARMS
-10 plank walk outs
-5 close grip push ups 
-30 second rest
-Repeat 3x

Plank Tip: Squeeze your belly button up + in. This will tighten your arms + protect your spine.

COOL DOWN
-30 second jog in place
-10 second jumping jax
-Repeat 5x

    I’m always looking for exercises that I can do inside, I’m in New Jersey and we’re getting the same wind chill you are! Running outside isn’t exactly high on my list of to-do’s.

    • I feel your pain Victoria!! That’s why I love these workouts, I can even do them in fuzzy socks — though not recommended for safety!
