There’s nothing like ordering in Chinese food with your roommates on a Sunday night. But what if you want all the flavor of your favorite Asian dishes without all of the added sodium and sugar? I’ve got you covered. Next time you’re craving Orange Chicken with a side of spring rolls, mix up one of these healthy Asian sauces and mix it in to a stir fry. Simple, easy and delicious. BOOM. 

asian sauces made healthySweet and Sour

  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • ¼ cup of rice wine vinegar
  • ¼ cup of light soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. of crushed red pepper flakes

Hot and Sour

  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • ¼ cup of red or white wine vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. red chili garlic paste

Peanut Sauce

  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • ¼ cup light soy sauce
  • 4 tsp. natural peanut butter (the only ingredients should be oil, peanuts, and salt)
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 2 tsp. red chili garlic paste

Sesame

  • ½ cup vegetable broth
  • ½ cup light soy sauce
  • 4 tsp. rice vinegar
  • 4 tsp. toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes

Orange Sesame

  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 Tbsp. rice vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp. toasted sesame oil
  • ½ tsp. red chili garlic paste
  • 1 tsp. grated orange zest
  • 1 tsp. orange juice

Simply whisk all of the ingredients together in a bowl. Store in an air tight container for when you need it again.
